14th Annual Conference of Society of Pharmacovigilance, India (SOPICON '14)

Dear Colleagues,

We are glad to inform you that the Department of Pharmacology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India is entrusted to hold the 14th Annual Conference of Society of Pharmacovigilance, India (SOPICON’14) from 1- 3 December 2014 along with an International Symposium on ‘‘Safe Medicine and Safe Patient”.

The Department of Pharmacology of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh, has been a pioneer in the field of Pharmacovigilance in India even before the initiation of NPPI and PvPI by the Government of India. It was designated ‘WHO special Centre for ADR Monitoring’ in 1997. The idea of founding an Indian Society for Pharmacovigilance was also mooted at Aligarh during the International Workshop in ADR monitoring in 1998.

The upcoming conference cum symposium will bring together academic experts to discuss the importance of Pharmacovigilance, current regulations, safety surveillance (pre and post marketing) and review risk management plans to improve safe medicine and safe patient. The symposium will specifically open new vistas for young scientists, who wish to take up the research in this field.

The Scientific programme will comprise of various orations, guest lectures, symposia on many current topics including free papers and posters presentation. Eminent speakers from India and abroad are being invited to deliver guest lectures on the current and relevant information.
